List of Items to Donate to the ReStores

Thank you for your donation! Your contribution of merchandise helps the ReStore earn income to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati and keep tons of materials from going into our area landfills. The following is a list of items we accept and do not accept:


  • Appliances – in good working condition, not needing any repair (note: no dishwashers or hot water heaters built prior to 2013 due to the change in EPA lead level regulations)
  • Architectural items – in good condition, columns, antique windows, mantels, porch posts, interior railings, stained glass
  • Bed frames & headboards
  • Books – clean, intact, no mold or odors (no text books)
  • Cabinets/Countertops/Vanity tops – clean and unscratched
  • Ceiling fans with mounting hardware
  • Doors – exterior and interior
  • Electrical – residential wire, plugs, plates
  • Fiberglass bathtubs/stalls
  • Flooring – carpets, padding, area rugs w/ no visible wear, stains or odors. New vinyl tile and new ceramic tile. Unblemished hardwood.
  • Furniture – in good condition, free of rips/tears, permanent stains, odor, excessive wear/tear and pet damage
  • Hardware – for doors, cabinets in working condition, free of rust
  • Housewares – baskets, knick knacks, silk plants, decorative plates, silverware, glasses, framed pictures, framed mirrors, lamps, etc.
  • Insulation – new only (in bundles, unopened)
  • Lighting – all parts included
  • Lumber – plywood – full to ¼ sheets, milled lumber – 4’+ lengths, trim – 4’+ lengths, siding – full lengths
  • Masonry – cinder block, stone & brick – drop off on pallet only
  • Paint – any new, full, unopened, non-rusted cans of latex paint or stain with color clearly indicated (no used or opened paint)
  • Plumbing Fixtures – new or clean used sinks, bathtubs, toilets in good condition with no chips or stains
  • Pipe: PVC/metal/copper
  • Printers, stereos, DVD players, phones (no TVs)
  • Records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs
  • Recycling – metal, used and broken electronics of any kind except TV’s
  • Roofing materials – shingles (whole bundles), rolls of roofing materials, new roofing and gutter materials with no damage
  • Sheet Rock – (drywall) 4’ lengths and up, conditions must be that 4’ of sheet rock is salvageable, 8’ length and up accepted
  • Tools – hand or power tools
  • Vents – floor, ceiling, air return (clean and in good condition)
  • Windows – double pane only (no single pane), pre-inspected and free of rot with glass intact; no cracks or fogging


  • Baby items or toys
  • Blinds, curtains, drapes, window treatments
  • Chemicals – paint thinner, pesticides, fertilizers, and other toxic, hazardous chemicals
  • Clothing
  • Computer monitors
  • Entertainment centers
  • Gym and exercise equipment
  • Mattresses & box springs
  • TVs
  • Unframed glass or mirrors
  • Used glass shower doors
  • Used metal office desks, used wood desks over 48″, and office partitions/cubicles
  • Used paint 
  • Water beds or hot tubs
